FCAP FUNERAL CONSUMERS ALLIANCE
OF PRINCETON, INC. The greatest obstacle to free choice in making funeral arrangements is the mystery that surrounds the physical and financial facts of death. Planning a funeral should be a simple business transaction, a purchase of services. What makes it different from buying a home or car is the speed with which it must be done, the emotion involved, and the lack of knowledge of the average consumer. The Funeral Consumers Alliance promotes choice through education. By informed planning, members can make arrangements that will encourage both the acceptance of death and the affirmation of life for those left behind. DID YOU KNOW? · Most individuals never share their funeral wishes with their family members. FCAP members receive instructions on how to communicate this information, sparing relatives from difficult, expensive decisions. · The average cost of a “traditional” funeral in the U.S. is now over $6,000. FCAP members usually purchase simpler services for a fraction of the cost. · Embalming and fancy caskets are not required for cremation or burial. FCAP members avoid unnecessary procedures and expenses by pre-planning. · A safety deposit box is a poor place to store your funeral instructions. FCAP members learn who to notify before the time of death. · When a body is not displayed, memorial services can be held almost anywhere. FCAP members learn about various options, including community halls, parks, churches, synagogues, homes. · Even if death comes suddenly and an individual has not pre-planned, relatives can enroll the deceased in FCA and save money. |
